Young Consumers and Social Media

This report presents research by the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority on the relationship between young consumers' (ages 8–25 years) social media consumption and wellbeing. The research was based on survey responses from 3,445 Danish children, teens, and young adults and 2,381 parents. The report first examines the impacts of overuse and addiction in social media consumption and outlines how the amount of time spent on social media relates to young social media consumers' overall well-being.
