New strong business partnerships between Denmark and Ukraine

Minister of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Morten Bødskov has traveled to Ukraine together with a business delegation, where he, will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj. Together with Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, the Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs has signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation between Denmark and Ukraine in the fight for freedom.

Since the start of the war, Danish business has supported Ukraine's fight against Russian troops. Both through donations for humanitarian aid and investments, which will help rebuild Ukraine and its economy.

In order to strengthen the already strong cooperation, Minister Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Morten Bødskov has traveled to Ukraine with a number of Danish CEOs. With an agreement between Denmark and Ukraine, the Minister of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs and XX Minister from Ukraine have laid a strategic and long-term framework for the work on the reconstruction of Ukraine. Here, the focus is particularly on rebuilding critical infrastructure, green energy and the Ukrainian industry.

Ukraine's fight for freedom is our fight for freedom. The support must continue. And here, Danish businesses have already repeatedly shown what they are made of. We must not let Putin's attacks stand in the way of investments in the reconstruction of the free Ukraine of the future. Our collaboration is already strong, but now we are making it even stronger. With the agreement, we ensure that Danish knowledge and innovation can benefit and help the Ukrainians rebuild their country. Together we can create fertile ground for a strong and free Ukraine for the future.

Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko:

I extend my appreciation to the Government of Denmark for their support in the reconstruction of Ukraine. We see the opportunities to strengthen ties between Danish and Ukrainian businesses to bolster the Ukrainian economy. We are sincerely grateful for the recent decision of the Danish Government to expand funding for the Danish Export Investment Fund (EIFO). We are confident that this is an encouraging tool for existing and potential Danish investors in Ukraine. Additionally, we see prospects for deepening cooperation in the green transition and introducing innovative solutions in critical infrastructure, where Denmark is a market leader. We are specifically talking about water supply, heating, electricity, and sustainable building materials.

During his trip, the Minister of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs and the rest of the delegation will meet with the Ukrainian minister xx and other representatives from the Ukrainian government and the Ukrainian parliament. He will also hold meetings with a number of representatives from Danish companies
present in Ukraine. In addition, the Minister of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs will visit one of Carlsberg's large breweries in the country, which represents one of the most significant Danish investments in Ukraine.
